Our services range from the construction of small bores required for camps / drill programs 4” (103mm) to large diameter production bores 12” (305mm) intended for supply or de-watering. We not only drill your bores, we test pump as well if required eliminating the need for third party contractors.
Our rigs have 20” slips table capable of handling the largest surface casing and offer multipurpose drilling methods which include;

This enables Clients to explore for ground water resources using any of the above methods ‘all with the same machine’ saving considerable cost in mobilisation / de-mobilisation of any other plant and equipment.
Pilot holes are drilled and tested to locate suitable ground water resources prior to the construction of a production bore.

“Water Boring Unearthed”
Water Bores can be required for a range of means, from small bores used in camps or drill programs, to large-diameter production bores intended for supply or dewatering. Another of the services we provide at Egan is the construction of Monitoring Bores and Piezometers both Casagrande (PZC) and Vibrating Wire (VWP) as well as providing the tools to do so. The ‘Piezometer’ is an instrument used for measuring the pressure of a liquid or gas, and is often placed in boreholes to monitor the pressure or depth of groundwater.
Piezometers consist of sealed PVC pipe of between 20 to 40mm in diameter, with narrow slots cut in the bottom to allow water entry. Because piezometers are drilled into an aquifer, they are usually installed at a depth greater than three metres. When three or more are installed at the same depth, horizontal groundwater movement can be determined; when installed at different depths at the same site, vertical water movement is monitored, indicating whether the site is acting as a recharge or discharge area, or an area of lateral water flow.
A water borehole is essentially a well, although not the ornamental kind in which you might throw coins to make a wish, but rather, the practical kind of well that benefits both the environment and your bank account.

And yet with the recent easing of water restrictions, permanent water saving measures remains in place in parts of Australia to help reduce the demand for water and promote the efficient use of water.

How Can You Save Money?
By drilling a borehole, you are tapping into your own private water supply and can cut out a large percentage of those costs. If you choose for an advanced system with filtration, you can supply drinking water too and end your reliance on a utility provider and cut the costs out altogether. When you use the water from your own private supply, apart from the initial borehole drilling costs, making use of it will cost you nothing more than a small fee for the electricity used to power your private well. This means that if you regularly water your garden trees or vegetable patch, wash your car or farm vehicles, supply ponds or feed animals and livestock, then over the course of a year your savings could be substantial.
